BIOGRAPHY

Terry G. Adams is the Managing Attorney and Founder of Adams Law, a Knoxville-based law firm serving individuals, businesses, lenders, and organizations across Tennessee. With more than twenty years of legal experience, Mr. Adams is widely recognized for his work in contract law, business and commercial transactions, real estate, estate planning, and entertainment and sports law.

Mr. Adams founded Adams Law in 2004. Since that time, the firm has grown from a solo practice into a dynamic organization of nearly fifty employees and eight attorneys, supported by an exceptional professional staff. Under his leadership, Adams Law has built a reputation for practical legal guidance, strategic negotiation, and long-term client relationships.

In addition to Adams Law, Mr. Adams is the President and CEO of Admiral Title, Inc., a full-service title and real estate closing company. Since 2004, Admiral Title has successfully closed more than 50,000 residential and commercial real estate transactions and now operates multiple offices throughout East Tennessee. Mr. Adams oversees firm operations and a team of approximately fifty professionals across four regional branches.

Mr. Adams has been recognized by Cityview Magazine as a Top Attorney for seventeen consecutive years, earning peer-reviewed honors in multiple categories, including Contract Law, Real Estate Development & Finance, Business Law, Estate Planning & Trusts, Entertainment & Sports Law, Intellectual Property, and Business Litigation.

Beyond his legal practice, Mr. Adams is a sought-after public speaker, educator, and negotiator. He regularly provides training and continuing legal education to attorneys, business professionals, and real estate practitioners on topics including negotiation strategy, contract law, and real estate transactions. He has served as an instructor for the Tennessee Bar Association and has been a guest lecturer for the University of Tennessee College of Music.

Mr. Adams currently serves as an Adjunct Professor of Law at the University of Tennessee, where he teaches courses in Entertainment Law, Sports Law, and Title Law.

A nationally trained negotiator, Mr. Adams completed the Harvard Law School Program on Negotiation, earning certificates in both Basic and Advanced Negotiation. His forthcoming book, The Do Quotient, explores execution, leadership, and decision-making drawn from his experience as an attorney, entrepreneur, and educator.

Mr. Adams’s background includes service as a political consultant on campaigns for the United States Senate and House of Representatives, and he previously ran as a candidate for the United States Senate. He is a veteran of the United States Navy Reserves, where he served for eight years.

Outside the practice of law, Mr. Adams is an accomplished musician who has released three full-length albums and remains active in the arts. While studying at the University of Tennessee, he pursued theater and performed at the Clarence Brown Theatre, as well as in productions in Budapest, Hungary, and on stages throughout East Tennessee, including the Bijou Theatre, Oak Ridge Playhouse, and Morristown Theatre.

Mr. Adams is admitted to practice before the Supreme Court of Tennessee, the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Tennessee, and the United States Tax Court.  He is a member of the American Bar Association, Tennessee Bar Association, and Knox County Bar Association.
